CRAWLEY HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
Crawley Horticultural Society was founded in 1952 and 74 years later is still going strong.
The objects of the Society are to further horticultural interest by arranging meetings, shows and visits and to provide facilities for the supply of horticultural requisites.
The Society Constitution was adopted at the 2011 AGM and updated at the 2022 AGM & can be downloaded here as a PDF document.
The Society is run by a dedicated band of members who are elected annually at the AGM to form the Management Committee. In addition, ordinary members volunteer to help at the shop on a rota basis – your help is always needed and appreciated.
Current Honorary Life Members are:
Peter Nash Ron Spraget John Green
Graham Jones Ted Lyon Penny Harber

We now have a huge gap in our history which needs to be filled with factual information about the Society - Can you help?
Following the interest shown in the small exhibition created for the 60th anniversary party in August 2012, we are setting up an official CHS archive. We are asking for any ephemera such as papers or photographs relating to the Crawley Horticultural society.
Naturally the older the better. Especially photographs - does anybody have pictures of the time when we were building the hall and the shop?? Nothing is too small or uninteresting. Cuttings from newspapers, reports, letters, membership cards. price lists, year books, show schedules, we would be interested!
Committee member Barry Morton has volunteered to become our Archivist.
Address is 25 Findon Road, Ifield, Crawley, RH11 0AP, telephone number 01293 541628
